Freshman right-hander Reid Casey scattered eight hits and two runs over 8

1/3 innings to lead East Tennessee State to an 8-2 victory over Tennessee

in college baseball played in Johnson City on Tuesday.

The Vols, now 18-16 overall, jumped on the board in the first inning when

Jeff Christensen singled to rightfield scoring Donnie Ross. Tennessee would

not score again until the top of the eighth inning on an RBI single by

Stevie Daniel.

ETSU, now 13-14 on the season, took the lead for good in the bottom of the

second inning when third baseman Lance Torbett launched a two-run home run

to right.

The Bucs broke the game open with a five-run seventh inning. Travis Blevins
