Being the end of the semester, things are getting overwhelming.
I know I am not alone. It happens every time to almost every one of us. I'm bringing myself through it by looking forward to my favorite things about summer.
I have composed a dorky and entirely original rhyme to keep me happy and sane in the midst of duties and deadlines:

Big smiles on faces,
And sunshine on water,
Naps in the daytime,
And sun getting hotter,
Hikes in the forest,
Peace that it brings,
These are a few of my favorite things ...

Kerouac novels,
And fresh watermelon,
Bongos and banjos,
An' Jell-O a-gellin,'
Crickets a-chirpin' and songs the birds sing,
These are a few of my favorite things ...

Wearing white dresses,
And walks in the highlands,
Plane rides that take me to faraway islands,
Golden red sunsets
That melt into dreams,
These are a few of my favorite things ...

Dips in the ocean,
And sleeping 'til noon,
Road trips and day trips,
And twilight in June,
Strawberry slushies,
Humidity clings,
These are a few of my favorite things ...

Wind in my tresses,
And gazing at stars,
Campfires all night in mountains afar,
Bare feet and frolics
That give me new wings,
These are a few of my favorite things ...

Talking all night
In the cool summer air,
Fireflies and fireworks,
And tropical flair,
Wisdom that's found
In the butterfly's wings,
These are a few of my favorite things ...

When exams are tough,
When studies are rough,
When I'm feelin' sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad ...
