LONDON (AP) - Former Beatle Paul McCartney admits to a correlation between song lyrics and drugs.
John Lennon, who wrote "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," had previously denied the song was about drugs, saying it was inspired by a nursery school drawing by his son, Julian.
McCartney has confirmed that drugs influenced some of the group's songs, such as "Day Tripper," "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "Got to Get You into My Life."
McCartney rejected drugs as his career calmed down and does not want Beatle fans to overestimate the influence of drugs on the band's musical accomplishments.
