The UT Student Senate is providing students an opportunity to fight for
more adequate higher education funding today and tomorrow from 10-3 p.m.,
by sponsoring a letter-writing campaign.
The senate will have a booth in the UC Plaza where students can either
write or drop off letters that will be mailed collectively by the SGA to
legislators in Nashville.
"This letter writing campaign is an excellent way for students to show
legislators their concern about the future of higher education," SGA
Historian and senator Kristin Mills said. "SGA senate proposed this project
in an effort to support the voices of students in a meaningful way."
Mills said that all of the letters will be mailed together at the expense
of the SGA.
"The intent is for the arrival of the letters all at once to make a
valuable impact on the legislators," Mills said.
