The University of Tennessee Men's Club Soccer Team is heading to Phoenix,
Ariz. as the number one seed to play in the National Association of
Collegiate Soccer tournament.
The team will leave on Wednesday to join the other 15 teams in the
tournament for the championship title. The chance to go to the championship
came after the team defeated the Auburn Tigers in late October, said Jason
Greene, a team captain.
"We showed a great deal of heart and determination," senior captain Chris
Destino said about the win over Auburn. "I could not be more proud of the
The team will play on Friday and Saturday, and if they reach the finals,
will play again on Sunday.
Greene said freshman forward Brian Givens, junior defender Brad Slayden and
senior midfielder Ryan Miles are a few of the players on the team who have
been instrumental in bringing success to the team this season.
