Curtail your tailgating before the University of Tennessee/Wyoming game to

"edugate" yourself.

The College of Arts and Sciences, the Athletics Department and UT Alumni

Affairs are sponsoring free pregame showcases two hours before kick-off to

further your education with flair.

The first showcase, "From Log Cabins to Victorian Mansions: An Illustrated

Tour of East Tennessee's Historic Architecture," will be presented by

Charles Faulkner, a professor in the UT department of anthropology, Sept. 4

at 5 p.m. in the UC room 235. Complimentary dessert and drinks will be

provided.

Future pregame showcases include "Y2K +U=YUKK" on Sept. 25, "The Banner Yet

Waves: Saving 'Old Glory'" on Oct. 2, "The Plantation South" on Oct. 9,

"World War II: The Good War?" on Oct. 30, "Our Left-Handed Universe" on

Nov. 6 and "Tennessee's Weirdest Fishes" on Nov. 27.

Each 30-minute informative and entertaining presentation is free and open

to the public. Preregistration is not required, and a drawing for a door

prize will be held courtesy of the UT Athletics Department.
