The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is hosting "Just For You Day" exclusively for University of Tennessee employees and their children this Saturday.
Laura Trainer, assistant director of undergraduate programs, said Saturday's event will be very informal with an expected number of fifty participants.
"Just For You Day" was designed especially for high school juniors and seniors. This is the third year for this program, and according to Trainer, it has been quite successful.
"The purpose of the day is to give UT employees and their children personalized attention regarding the admissions process. It is our way of letting them (UT employees) know how much we appreciate them and that we are interested in assisting their chil
dren with the admissions process," Trainer said.
Participants for the event should visit 320 Student Services Building between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. They will have the opportunity to meet with admissions and financial counselors, as well as take a UT Ambassador-guided tour of the campus and its facilitie
s.
Nancy Headlee, assistant director for the UT Math and Science Regional Center, plans to bring her high school senior to "Just For You Day."
Headlee said she believes it will be a good experience for both of them to hear comments from present students and other faculty members.
"It's good sometimes for students to hear stuff from people besides Mom," she said.
Those interested in participating in the event are asked to call the admission's office at 974-8537 or visit the office's Web site at web.utk.edu/~ugadmiss.
