UT Dining Services is offering customers the chance to win a $50 Best Buy gift certificate this week by filling out customer satisfaction surveys at various campus dining locations.
Simmon Ndungu, a human resources assistant for dining services, said the surveys will allow dining services to see what the customers want.
"The surveys give customers a chance to provide ideas and feedback on our services," Ndungu said.
When filling out the surveys, customers also have the opportunity to sign up for a drawing to win the gift certificate, provided by Pepsi. The winner will be contacted by dining services when the survey period is completed. Candy and other prizes will be given to participants.
The surveys will be available at Morrill Dining during lunch and dinner today. The All-American Grill will provide the same opportunity on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. through lunch. Students can also pick up surveys throughout the week at the dining services office in Presidential Court.
"These surveys are our way to receive first-hand feedback from our customers," said Tony Young, All-American Grill manager. "It only helps our customers see their requests be met when they participate in this survey."
In other attempts to improve customer service, UT Dining Services offers scheduled times for customers to meet with managers from each of the dining services locations. This program, known as Dine with the Director, allows managers to receive feedback directly from customers.
Young said allowing customers to directly communicate with the managers allows Dining Services to better understand customer needs.
"This is a great way to discuss your likes and dislikes with the manager directly," Young said. "Whether menu items or ideas for improvement, you can help to better our quality of service."
Dine with the Director sessions will take place all semester long at each dining services location.
