MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Two people were killed after a pickup truck collided with a CSX Transportation train here on Tuesday, authorities said.
The names of the victims weren't released.
The two-engine CSX train was heading from Nashville to Chattanooga and hit the truck at about 48 mph, said CSX spokesman David Hall.
He said none of the crew was injured.
The collision happened in an industrial park, Hall said. Neighbors told Nashville television station WKRN that the intersection a few blocks from the Church Street overpass didn't have a crossing arm.
One person was killed and another critically injured in separate train accidents at another Murfreesboro crossing this year.
