KNOXVILLE - Police have charged a 21-year-old man in a double homicide that occurred over the weekend.
Brandon Compton, no address released, is accused of shooting two men outside a North Knoxville home around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.
The victims, Kellen Edward Shown, 22, and Douglas Clayton Hall Jr., 18, were found in the front yard of the house.
"It was a possible drug transaction that went bad," said Sgt. Tom Fox of the Knoxville Police Department.
Neither of the victims lived there.
"They were shot in the front yard," said Lt. Greg Hoskins, of KPD. "Both were dead at the scene."
Police questioned several witnesses. Compton was arrested later Saturday and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is being held in the Knox County Jail on a $250,000 bond for each charge.
