MIAMI - A second serial rapist may be stalking the Miami area, police said, noting similarities in four sexual assaults over the past three months.
Miami-Dade County police said the latest rape happened Wednesday, when a 37-year-old woman was attacked in her home.
The attacks began March 31 and include the May 14 rape of a 10-year-old girl. The man may have also tried to force a 13-year-old girl into her home Tuesday before he was scared away by people inside, police said.
A gun was used in each attack, and all but Tuesday's home invasion occurred between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., officers said.
Police did not believe the attacks were related to the serial rapes of seven girls and women in Miami's Little Havana area because that rapist is of a different ethnicity.
DNA evidence suggests six of the Little Havana attacks were committed by the same man. There is no such evidence in the new set of cases, police spokesman Joey Gordon said.
