Brice Bible, Assistant Vice President for Research has been named Information Technology Interim Chief Information Officer for the University of Tennessee. The position became vacant when Dr. Dwayne McCay resigned to become provost at Florida Tech. A search will be conducted for a permanent CIO.
Bible currently manages statewide information technology services for the university. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Tennessee Tech and a Master of Business Administration from UT Chattanooga. He worked in the power generation industry in information systems development and management prior to coming to UT in 1990.
We are fortunate to have Bible available to step into this role. He has the background and experience to bring a team approach to the IT group, while addressing the need for improved services and products as we find methods to increase efficiency and lower costs.
