HAMMOND, La. (AP) - A history professor at Southeastern Louisiana University has a book coming out next year on the assassination of President Kennedy, timed to the 40th anniversary of the killing.
Michael Kurtz said he believes more than one gunman was involved in the assassination and said the official investigation by the Warren Commission leaves out key details. He believes the killing was part of a conspiracy and two likely suspects are Cubans and a part of organized crime.
His book, "Conflict and Consensus in the JFK Assassination Debates," comes after years of teaching an elective course on the assassination.
Kurtz, a University of Tennessee graduate student at the time of Kennedy's murder, has spent much of his professional life researching the assassination.
