The Writers in the Bibrary series is ending the season with readings from two Tennesseans. William Gay and Patricia Waters will read parts of their works today at 7 p.m. in the auditorium in Hodges Library.
Gay, from Hohenwald, Tenn., has written two novels as well as a collection of short stories. He is the 1999 recipient of the William Peden Award and the James A. Michener Memorial Prize as well as the 2002 Guggenheim fellowship.
Waters is a writer-in-residence in the UT Libraries. A native of Nashville, Waters has written poems and nonfiction that appeared in several reviews.
A reception and book signing will follow the readings. The event is free and open to the public.
