The Writers in the Library series is ending the season with readings from two Tennesseans. William Gay and Patricia Waters will read parts of their works on Monday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in the Hodges Library.
Gay, from Hohenwald, Tenn., has written two novels as well as a collection of short stories. He is the 1999 recipient of the William Peden Award and the James A. Michener Memorial Prize as well as the 2002 Guggenheim fellowship.
Waters is a writer-in-residence in the UT Libraries. A native of Nashville, Waters has written poems and nonfiction that appeared in several reviews. A reception and book signing will follow the readings. The event is free and open to the public.
