CLARKSVILLE (AP) - Two teenagers were killed and a third was injured when their truck ran off the road and landed upside down in floodwaters of the Cumberland River, state troopers said.
Matthew Tremblay, 17, of Arlington and David Allen, 18, of Clarksville, both died in the Saturday evening wreck, according to the Highway Patrol's Nashville district.
Jeffery Raymer, 14, of Clarksville was taken to Gateway Health System where his condition was unavailable Sunday.
Trooper Michael Richardson said the vehicle crossed the center lane on Gratton Road, overcorrected, then rolled down a ravine and landed upside down in the water.
"One made it out," Richardson told The Leaf-Chronicle of Clarksville. "The other two were pinned and did not make it."
Rescue workers spent several hours in the snow, pulling the victims and the vehicle from the water.
