CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Franklin Graham told a meeting of Christian broadcasters that reelecting President Bush is the only way to stem the "garbage" that was seen during halftime at the Super Bowl.
The speech, given Sunday morning during the National Religious Broadcasters' convention in Charlotte, drew a standing ovation.
He said the Super Bowl halftime at which Janet Jackson exposed a breast is the "tip of the iceberg" for what secularists have in store for the nation. Without mentioning names, he said the goal of "these people" is to show open sex on TV, much like what he said is shown on TV in Europe.
While his father, Billy Graham, has said he should have avoided partisan politics and stuck to spiritual matters, Franklin Graham took stands on a number of hot-button issues during his 30-minute talk Sunday morning.
