LOUDON, Tenn. (AP) - An unidentified woman was found dead Tuesday in an isolated section of Loudon County, authorities said.
The woman, described as between ages 25 and 40 with short, blondish-brown hair, was discovered by a Loudon County Highway Department worker shortly before noon. Her pants were pulled down and her sweat shirt was pulled over her head but there was no evidence of sexual assault, Loudon County Sheriff Tim Guider said.
"We are treating it as a homicide, but I can't go into any description of the wounds," Guider said.
It appeared the woman, who weighed between 110 and 125 pounds, had been dropped off at the scene about 48 to 72 hours before she was found, he said.
Anyone with information about the killing is asked to call Loudon County authorities at 986-4823 or 986-0647.
