- In the United States, a sexual assault occurs every 45 seconds
- 178 women are forcibly raped every hour, 1,871 every day, 56,916 every month, 683,000 every year
- 1 out of every 4 women will be raped by someone they know
- 20 % of college-aged women will be victims of sexual assault at some point during their college careers
- In over 1/2 of campus sexual assaults, the offender and/or victims were drinking alcohol or using drugs
- 86% of sexual assaults involving college students took place off-campus, often in a fraternity house or apartment
- 2/3 of sexual violence goes unreported, making it the most dramatically underreported criminal
- Due to victims not reporting this crime, 98% will never see their attacker apprehended, convicted or incarcerated
- 1/3 of rap victims develop Rape Related Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (RRPTSD) at some point in their lifetimes

One study revealed that the following percentages of students felt it acceptable for a male to hold down a female and force her to engage in intercourse if she is "stoned" or "drunk":
High School College
Males : 39% 21%
Females: 18% 6%
