Charles Hathaway was transported to St. Louis Thursday morning to be evaluated

further by specialists at Barnes Hospital at the recommendation of doctors

at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

After a full day of treatment and further tests at UT Medical Center

on Wednesday, doctors decided Wednesday night to refer him to a vascular

specialist.

Hathaway was admitted to UT Medical Center Tuesday after doctors discovered

a blood clot in his right shoulder. He missed Tuesday night's game against

Tennessee Tech and is out of action indefinitely.

The 6-10 Nashville sophomore leads the Vols in rebounding again this

season, averaging 6.4 a game. Last season Hathaway led the Vols on the boards

(7.1) and was the SEC's top freshman rebounder. He is averaging 8.4 points

and two blocked shots a game this season.
