Jeff Christensen doubled twice and drove in three runs as the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks 6-3, to go up two games to none in the three-game series.
Kris Bennett led Tennessee's 12-hit attack with three hits, while Chris Burke and Justin Parker collected two each.
Wyatt Allen (7-2) allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits with six strikeouts and three walks in 5 2/3 innings for the win.
Will Curtiss pitched 3 1/3 innings of shutout relief for his fourth save.
Charlie Isaacson (3-6) allowed all six Tennessee runs on 11 hits in 6 2/3 innings. Josh Merryman kept the Vols in check over the final 2 2/3 innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit.
Tennessee pushed one run across in the first as Burke led off with an infield single, stole second and scored on Christensen's double to right.
Christensen then doubled home two more runs in the fifth and scored on Bennett's single as the Vols took a 4-0 lead.
Three Tennessee errors and a two-run single by pinch hitter Nick Pitts pulled the Razorbacks to within 4-3 in the sixth.
The Vols extended their lead to 6-3 in the seventh on the second Razorback error and a single by Bennett.
In Friday's action, Justin Parker collected three hits and drove Tennessee's final three runs as the Volunteers held on to defeat the Arkansas Razorbacks, 8-7, for their fifth consecutive one-run victory and 17th comeback win.
The Vols and Razorbacks played the final game of the series at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Results were not available at press time.
