SOFTBALL TEAM FALLS TO ALABAMA, 11-0
Fourth-ranked Alabama claimed the rubber game of its series with the Lady Vol softball team on Sunday afternoon, as the Tide offense slugged four homers and junior All-American Shelley Laird and freshman Erin Wright limited UT to three hits in registering an 11-0 shutout.
The Tide avenged its only loss of the season to improve to 28-1 overall and 8-1 in the Southeastern Conference, while Tennessee slipped to 14-20 and 4-7 in league play.
The defeat marked only the second time UT has ever been run-ruled at Tyson Park. The game was halted after five innings.
