Tennessee senior Keeley Dowling is headed to Iceland for a week. The All-American defender joins 17 other top under-21 U.S. college soccer players to compete in the 2004 Nordic Cup, July 23-29.
The American team will be looking to claim its sixth consecutive title at the 14th Nordic Cup, held in Northern Europe each summer.
Before heading to the northern part of Iceland (near the Arctic Circle), the squad will assemble this weekend in New Jersey for a scrimmage against the U.S. Under-19 National Team.
Soccer Buzz Magazine named Dowling to its first-team All-America team last season. Along with repeating as a first-team All-SEC choice, Dowling also earned Defender of the Year in the conference.
The Carmel, Ind., will try to lead the Lady Vols in the fall to their second-straight SEC Tournament title and their fourth-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
