The 2003-04 all-sports rankings are out, and The University of Tennessee finished 14th in overall excellence in varsity sports among NCAA Division I-A schools.
Stanford won its 10th straight Directors' Cup, the trophy for No. 1. Michigan finished second and UCLA third.
Along with UT, three other Southeastern Conference athletic programs played their way into the top 15. Georgia ranked fifth, Florida sixth and Louisiana State 11th.
After finishing 12th for 2001-02, Tennessee fell to 27th after the 2002-03 season. The highest finish for UT was 11th in 1994-95.
This past year, Tennessee ended in the top-10 in women's basketball, women's soccer, women's indoor track and men's swimming. The Vols ranked 16th in football.
