University of Tennessee senior Keely Dowling contributed an assist in the U.S. Under-21 National Team's 3-0 shutout Sunday against Norway at the 14th Annual Nordic Cup.
The All-American from Carmel, Ind., set up the second score after her teammate's corner kick. Dowling headed the ball to Kelly Wilson, who redirected it into the goal.
Wilson, who scored two goals, is an All-American at that other UT (University of Texas). Another Longhorn is the U.S. team's head coach, Chris Petrucelli.
Dowling's summer squad improved to 2-0-0 in Group B. With a tie or better against Germany today, the Americans will advance to Thursday's final against Sweden.
The U.S. soccer team is eyeing its sixth consecutive title in an event thousands of miles from home. The Americans have won six of the past seven Nordic Cups (only loss came to Norway in the 1998 final).
