Five Tennessee baseball players were selected in the Major League Baseball draft Monday. The Oakland A's picked up a pair of UT pitchers.
Their sixth-round pick was Vol senior Derek Tharpe. Baseball America named the left-hander the top senior college pitcher on April 9.
The A's later selected junior right-hander Scot Drucker, in the 13th round as the 397th pick. The 6-1 transfer from Florida led UT with an 8-3 record this year, making five saves.
Sophomore outfielder Eli Iorg, the son of former major-leaguer Garth Iorg, went to the Chicago Cubs in the 14th round.
Junior right-hander Patrick Hicklen of the Kansas City Royals and senior shortstop Brian Cleveland of the Florida Marlins both heard their names in the 16th round.
