Coming off a victory over No. 18 Notre Dame in its last match, the 29th-ranked UT women's tennis team came up just short of taking out another top-20 squad on Wednesday, falling to No. 11 Texas, 4-3 at the Goodfriend Indoor Tennis Center.
The Longhorns have now won seven consecutive matches and boast a record of 11-1, while the Lady Vols fall to 9-9 on the season.
Tennessee now has just two remaining home matches this season, as the Lady Vols play host to No. 37 Ole Miss on Friday at 5 p.m. and Mississippi State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
