South Carolina game
set for night kickoff
Tennessee's football game versus South Carolina on Oct. 29 will be televised nationally by either ESPN or ESPN2, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m. at Neyland Stadium.
The decision on ESPN or ESPN2 will be made no later than Monday following the games of Oct. 22. Time will not change regardless of network.
Tennessee owns a 19-2-2 advantage in the all-time series, including a perfect 12-0 mark in Knoxville. The Volunteers have won the last 12 meetings between the two schools, with USC's last win coming in Columbia on Oct. 31, 1992 by a 24-23 score. The last time the teams met in Knoxville, the game went into overtime, with UT pulling out a 23-20 win.
Jefferson-Pilot Sports will kickoff the day's SEC coverage with the Ole Miss at Auburn game at 12:30 p.m. CBS Sports will follow with the Florida vs. Georgia game from Jacksonville, Fla., at 3:30 p.m.

Men’s golfers place ninth
at The Ridges tourney
The Tennessee men's golf finished in ninth place after shooting an 881 at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges in Jonesborough.
Jonathan Mount led the way for Tennessee. The Kingston native scored a 215 to finish in a tie for fifth. In Sunday's final round, Mount recorded an even-par 72 as he birdied Nos. 3 and 14.
Ben Spickard was next for the Volunteers. The Roswell, Ga., native shot 218 to finish in a tie for 12th place. Spickard shot a 70 in the third round that tied with Mount's second-round score for the lowest round shot by a Vol.
Philip Pettitt recorded a 223 to finish in a tie for 31st place. Pettitt shot a 75 on the final day, scoring birdies on 10 and 17, but three bogeys and a double bogey on 13 caused Pettitt to finish over par.
Lloyd Campbell shot a 225 to finish in a tie for 43rd place. Chris Paisley scored a 228 to round out the Tennessee lineup.
South Carolina won with a score of 859. Auburn finished in second place, eight shots behind USC. TCU and tournament host ETSU finished tied for third, 12 shots behind the Gamecocks.
Rhys Davies of ETSU shot 205 to win the individual title at 11-under-par. Florian Fritsch of South Carolina finished second at 8-under par. Carl Wakely of Virginia Tech finished third, six shots behind Davies.

Three Lady Vols fall
at UNC tournament
The Tennessee women’s tennis team completed play at the Wilson/ITA Regional Championships Saturday in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Senior Melissa Schaub and sophomores Bryce Marable and Ghizela Schutte participated in the tournament, which was hosted by North Carolina.
Schutte faced Maria Brito of Clemson, coming up short, 6-2, 6-4.
Schaub took on Clemson's Federica van Aldrichem, but also was unable to advance, dropping the match 6-4, 6-1.
Marable went up against Lindsey Ballard of Chattanooga, dropping the match, 6-4, 7-6.

Hensel, Rogers win first
two doubles matches
Tennessee men's tennis players Kaden Hensel and Ben Rogers fell in the quarterfinals to end Tennessee's stay at the ITA Southeast Indoor Regionals.
Hensel and Rogers playing together competitively in doubles for the first time in their careers, won twice Saturday including an upset over a ranked SEC opponent to advance to the quarterfinals. The UT tandem could not defeat a second SEC foe, however, as Kentucky's Nate Emge and Alex Hume defeated the UT duo 9-8.
