The 2009 Orange and White Game is slated for Saturday, April 18. The day will begin with Fan Day at Haslam Field, including an autograph session with the team from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The first 7,500 fans will receive a free fan pack.
The game is the 49th all-time spring game, dating back to the first contest in 1961.
“There is a lot of excitement around the new coaching staff, and this gives our fans the opportunity to get a sneak peak of what’s to come in the fall,” men’s athletic director Mike Hamilton said.
The Orange and White game kicks off at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5, and all proceeds will go to the UT-Knoxville campus. Tickets will be available online at on Feb. 2nd and at the recruiting celebrations in Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis on Feb. 5th.
The schedule of events is as follows. An autograph session will be held at Haslam Field from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Each fan will be allowed one signed item for each player and coach. The Vol Walk to the stadium will begin at 1:45 p.m. The Orange and White Game kicks off at 3 p.m.
Additionally, three former Vols will play in the Under Armour Senior Bowl on Jan. 24 in Mobile, Ala. Running back Arian Foster, defensive end Robert Ayers and offensive lineman Anthony Parker were invited to the game and will play for the South team.
Foster finished his UT career ranked second in program history with 2,964 career rushing yards. Ayers led the 2008 Vols with 15.5 total tackles for loss and posted 31.5 TFL in his career. Parker started six games at each of the guard positions in 2008.
Tennessee has sent at least one player to the Senior Bowl for 22 consecutive seasons. In all, 112 Vols have been invited to the event.
The Under Armour Senior Bowl will be televised by the NFL Network, and kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
